Isle of Wight - Woolworths store (Building Survey)
Following the liquidation of the Woolworth Company we undertook a number of surveys of their stores for a variety of clients across the country; the buildings were generally purpose built and in fair condition but lacked for modernisation.
For regular clients we have developed a form of survey report (pre-acquisition) that is in an executive format, summarising the main elements of condition and disrepair, the likely liability (leasehold), an assessment of costs and recommendations for remedial works.
This store was surveyed at a time of heavy and prolonged rain and was suffering severe water penetration; latent defects in the structure could also have lead to future defects.
